Former Princeton Board Chair Elected as Chairman of Cleveland State University Board

CSU Board of Trustees elects executive committee for the 2011-2012 academic year

Cleveland The Cleveland State University Board of Trustees has elected its executive committee for the 2011-2012 academic year. Elected to chairman was Robert H. Rawson Jr., who previously served on the Board of Princeton University for 20 years, including 13 years as chairman of Princeton's Executive Committee.

Mr. Rawson is a partner in the Jones Day law firm and served as partner-in-charge of its Cleveland office for 15 years. He currently is a member of the Board of the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education. He has been a CSU trustee since 2007.

"We are very fortunate to have someone with Mr. Rawson's experience in higher education and his connections to the Cleveland community," said Cleveland State President Ronald Berkman.

Elected to vice chairman is Trustee Dan T. Moore III, a Cleveland industrialist and entrepreneur who has served on the CSU Board since 2008. Trustee Morton Q. Levin, a Cleveland real estate developer, was elected as treasurer. He has served as a CSU trustee since 2008.

Recently appointed to the Board is Bernardo Moreno, president of the Collection Auto Group. Ohio Gov. John Kasich made the appointment to fill the unexpired term of Stephanie McHenry, who resigned from the Board earlier this year to become the University's vice president of Business Affairs and Finance. Mr. Moreno's term runs until May 2018.

Trustee Thomas Adler was elected chairman of the Advancement Committee and will also serve on the Executive Committee. He has served on the CSU Board since 2009. William Napier, senior advisor to the President for government relations at CSU, was named secretary to the Board. Anand "Bill" Julka, president and founder of Smart Solutions Inc., was appointed to serve as the Board's community member.

"CSU is very fortunate to have such a talented Board of Trustees who bring a wide variety of perspectives and experience to the table," President Berkman added. "This level of leadership is essential for advancing the university's mission."
