National Health Reform Begins: The Ohio Story
Forum Two: The Economic Impact on Northeast Ohio

About the Forum

With thousands of newly insured people accessing the health care systems, the National Health Care Reform Act will have an impact on the regional economy. What will this mean for charity care? What will be the impact of reducing health care costs for individuals, businesses and the public sector? Will it give a boost to the region's economy? The forum will also address the need for more providers - especially primary and preventive care providers - which will require extended investment at the college, community college and graduate (medical school) levels.

About this Series

Presented by the Levin College Forum in partnership with the Universal Health Care Action Network of Ohio (UHCAN Ohio). The third forum on June 20 will focus on the delivery system transformation encouraged by the Act and how that might impact ways in which people will receive health care.

The forums will educate consumers by providing objective, factual information about the changes that can be expected as the components of the reform are phased in. The series is made possible by the generous support of the George Gund Foundation, Kaiser Permanente and the Sisters of Charity Health System.
