There's no place like home for the holidays

It took all of a week for us to settle back in at Mather Mansion. Everything about it says home to us. So, for the holidays we're hosting an Open House on Wednesday, December 9. It's the first of what we hope will be many more holiday gatherings in the years ahead. We'll have great food, music and you'll have a chance to view the beautiful restoration of this historic home. That evening we'll be accepting food and clothing donations for the Lift Up Vikes! Student Resource Center & Food Pantry. RSVP TODAY

Pair this with your holiday turkey and thank us later

Though the weather in Cleveland has been rather spring-like, our minds have been thinking of the great feast that awaits us next week, and we were itching to bring a new dish to the table. Something out of the ordinary. Something with a flavor all its own. We reached out to alumna Natasha Pogrebinsky, owner of Bear restaurant in New York City, and she sent us a recipe you'll just have to try. Read more

Treading where LeBron has trod

A new era in Viking basketball is only weeks away, thanks to a exciting new partnership between Cleveland State and Quicken Loans Arena. It was a fairly routine day of work for us in the CSU Alumni Association. We were busy dreaming up new ways to engage our alumni base, when in walked Sterling McMillan, great-grandson of Samuel Mather. The "Mather" of our beloved Mather Mansion. He couldn't stay long, but promised to return with stories to share.

What Say You? Did you get a kick out of one of our stories? Perhaps you even have a story idea. Don't be shy. Send 'em in. We'd love to hear from you.

Special thanks to our 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award sponsors Liberty Mutual and GCA Services Group.
