Wow, what a weekend

Thousands celebrate our proud past and unlimited future
The hip hop violinist. The convivial beer garden. That audacious Parade of the Decades. More than 5,000 strong, we Vikings proved we love a great block party, reunion, and all around good time as we celebrated our historic 50th Anniversary and Homecoming weekend. Viking spirit never flagged, from the rousing sporting events to the great food, historic exhibits, tours and much more. Relive the fun and capture those memories with our photo and video highlights. Nine join ranks of CSU's Distinguished Alumni

They help run eBay, the Library of Congress, restaurants, small businesses, global firms and more. The annual Distinguished Alumni Awards kicked off our 50th weekend at a sparkling gala, honoring nine outstanding graduates for their service, leadership and career achievements. What's next? TEDx

A CSU first, TEDx comes to campus on October 24. From entrepreneurs to stand-up comics, 13 dynamic speakers will share “The Right to Dream” with inspiring stories about the four stages of creativity: Preparation, Incubation, Illumination and Verification. Register now.


A banner year of giving

Like many of you, this summer I took some time away from work to relax and recharge the batteries. I was scheduled to take a flight out of Hopkins that was cancelled, rescheduled, cancelled again, and then rebooked. There’s no relaxing or recharging nowadays with air travel. Read more.
